Three Detroit Tigers pitchers combined on a no-hitter in a 2-0 win over the Toronto Blue Jays. Matt Manning pitched into the 7th and got help from Jason Foley and Alex Lange out of the bullpen. It’s the 9th no-no for the Tigers and the 7th time the Jays have been no hit. Kevin Gausman took the loss giving up two runs in the first inning.
The Atlanta Braves are baseball’s best team earning their 60th win, 6-1 in Tampa Bay over the AL leading Rays. Spencer Strider struck out 11 over 6 innings and Sean Murphy hit a 3 run homer in the 4th.
The Rays have lost 7 straight and they’re 2 games up on the Baltimore Orioles.
The O’s won their 4th straight, 6-2 in Minnesota. All 6 runs came in the 2nd.
The Yankees and Jays tied for the 3rd wild card spot in the AL. New York over the Cubs, 6-3. Giancarlo Stanton hit a pair of homers. Gerritt Cole earned his 9th win.
Boston has won 4 straight. The Red Sox bounced Oakland, 10-3. Alex Verdugo and Jarren Duran hit home runs.
Cincinnati is up by 2 on Milwaukee after an 8-5 win over the Brewers in the NL Central. Rookie star Elly de la Cruz stole three bases on 2 pitches in the 7th. The Reds are 22-6 since he joined them just over a month ago.
Hamilton over Ottawa, 21-13 in the CFL. Both teams are 1-3.
A big night for Marc Campbell in harness racing at Red Shores in Charlottetown. He had four wins including Moonwriter in the 11th in 1.55/3.
Corey MacPherson had three wins. Among them Saulsbrook Ian in 1.54 in the David Rose Memorial.
