Wednesday is the day that grocery rebate payments should be hitting bank accounts and mailboxes. It was announced as part of the federal budget, and the Grocery Rebate is scheduled to be issued Wednesday alongside the next quarterly GST/HST credit payment. The Grocery Rebate will be equivalent to double the GST/HST credit amount you received for January 2023. The amount is calculated based on your family situation in January 2023 and your 2021 adjusted family net income.
For single individuals, maximum payments will be $234 if you have no children; $387 if you have 1 child; and $467 for those with 2 children. If you are married or have a common-law partner, the maximum payments will be $306 for those with no children; $387 for those with 1 child; and $467 for those with 2 children.
