Health PEI says it is adjusting the Kings County Memorial Hospital emergency department hours to weekdays only from July to October. It says the change is being made in order to stabilize the emergency department and avoid unplanned closures.
From July 1 to October 1, the emergency department at Kings County Memorial will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday to Friday.
Health PEI says the summer plan was developed with support from physicians and staff in Kings County in response to recent physician and staff departures and ongoing vacancies at the hospital.
