An 81-year-old man who went missing near the Morell River has been found safe after a search was conducted for the missing angler. The man became disoriented while navigating very rough terrain. Another angler, who met the 81-year-old earlier that day, alerted authorities when they noticed the missing man’s vehicle still at the site as dark fell. That prompted an immediate search that included over 20 personnel from the PEI Ground Search and Rescue, Morell Fire Department and their boat, RCMP Drone, RCMP Police Dog and the Kings District RCMP. Searchers successfully located the man after a short search. He was taken to hospital for treatment of non life threatening injuries after spending over 12 hours in the woods.
