The RCMP says a man was arrested Tuesday morning by officers following the Amber Alert. In the early hours of yesterday morning, Kings District RCMP launched an investigation after receiving a 911 call about an altercation at a home in Eglington. When police arrived at the home, the suspect and victim had already left. RCMP say the investigation revealed that a 9-year-old child had been abducted at gunpoint. At about 4:30am, Kings District RCMP issued an Amber Alert seeking the public’s assistance, and provided descriptions of the suspect and victim. They were located a short time later by police at a home in Souris, and the man was safely taken into custody. Police got into the home and located the 9-year-old child who was found to be safe. The RCMP cancelled the Amber Alert shortly before 7:00am and no one was injured in the incident.
