A incredibly generous donation of $500-thousand to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Foundation in support of the Provincial Urology Service at the QEH and overall men’s health care in the province. It is being made by the W.H. Tidmarsh Foundation. Harry Tidmarsh, through his will, formed the Foundation with the intent of providing for a men’s community care home in Charlottetown. The Tidmarsh Board designated the donation with $300,000 for current urology care needs, and $200,000 to establish a named endowment fund to support future care of Islanders.
The Provincial Urology Service at the QEH performs approximately 900 surgeries per year. Meanwhile, the Rotary Club of Charlottetown donated an additional $40,000 in recognition of Harry Tidmarsh as the Founder of the first Rotary Club in PEI.
