WestJet is shutting down the budget airline, Swoop which has been flying into Charlottetown for the past year. The decision came on Friday with the ratification of its recent deal with pilots which allows it to integrate all of its staff with various airlines into a single banner.
Swoop has been around since 2018 as a discount carrier. WestJet says the airline will continue to offer affordable options. Swoop will continue to fly through the end of October. Its employees will move to WestJet.
