A traffic reconstructionist has been assisting Prince District RCMP in its investigation into Friday night’s three-vehicle collision that left one person dead.
The Mounties say the preliminary investigation shows a car crossed the centre line and struck an oncoming minivan, while a third vehicle went into a ditch, as the driver was trying to avoid the other two vehicles. An 80-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene and his female passenger was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
Police say the man driving the second vehicle was sent to Halifax with life-threatening injuries.
No one was seriously injured in the third vehicle that went into the ditch.
