Lobster fishers are back out on the water Friday in an area of LFA 24 that had been closed since May 19th by DFO after North Atlantic Right Whales sightings. But DFO announced Thursday that a reopening of 5:00am Friday had been approved by the federal Fisheries Minister. It was May 19th when DFO ordered the closure of the area stretching from Tignish to New London for a period of 15 days, saying the measure could be lifted after 15 days if there were no new sightings of whales.
