RCMP arrested an impaired driver in North Tryon early this morning after they crashed their car on top of a camper with people sleeping inside. The RCMP got the call about 1:20am. They say a car had been involved in a crash and it came to rest in a vertical position with the rear of the car pointing straight up and leaning on top of a tow-behind camper. Six people were sleeping inside at the time of the collision, but no one was injured. Police say extreme speed was an additional factor in the collision. A 45-year-old Mount Mellick man was arrested at the scene for impaired and is facing a date in Summerside Provincial Court on July 19th. Island EMS, Crapaud Fire Department and PEI Red Cross all provided assistance at the scene.
