Opposition concerned with closure of Intensive Care Unit at PCH during internal medicine physician shortage

Opposition Health Critic Gord McNeilly responded to Health PEI’s announcement with concern that PEI’s health system now only has one intensive care unit for the entire province.  McNeilly says he’s worried patients will be moved to a bay within the Island’s main emergency department and the E-R at the QEH is already at capacity. He says the move will fully overwhelm the emergency department.  McNeilly says the Island has moved past being in a health care crisis, and is now looking at a system in collapse.
