Blown transformer causing widespread power outage in Charlottetown area

A blown transformer has caused a widespread power outage in Charlottetown Tuesday afternoon. The Charlottetown Fire Department and Maritime Electric crews are working to resolve the issue. Charlottetown Police are warning of traffic delays on Riverside Dr, Hillsborough Bridge, Parkdale, Sherwood, & Hillsborough. It’s not clear how long the power will be out but more than 4,400 customers are without power.
