The spring session of the PEI Legislature opens Friday. Lieutenant-Governor Antoinette Perry will deliver the Speech from the Throne outlining the Dennis King Government’s plans and priorities as it begins a second term in office with much focus on health care, housing, and the cost of living. The start of the session will also see the MLAs sworn in and the election of a Speaker. King’s Progressive Conservatives won a strong majority in the April 3rd election capturing 22 seats. The Liberals will now be the Official Opposition having won three seats and the Greens are the Third Party with 2 seats in the legislature.
