About three-thousand federal employees in PEI are a part of the national labour strike.
Tens of thousands of federal public workers across the country are on strike after Ottawa and the Public Service Alliance of Canada failed to reach a deal before Tuesday night’s deadline.
Striking employees on the island include P-S-A-C members and Canada Revenue Agency workers.
Union president Debi Buell says they’ve been without a contract for two years and want to see a fair deal that includes work-from-home arrangements and better wages to keep up with the rising cost of living.
