The Boston Marathon will be held on Monday with 14 Islanders taking part in the 127th event.
They will include a mom and her two daughters from Sherwood. Dorothy Gregory will be joined by her daughters Carrie Gregory and Sandra Cottreau in the historic 26-mile plus road race. They have all run in the Boston Marathon but never at the same time. Over 30,000 have registered for the annual race. The Islanders in the race qualified for Boston in last October’s PEI Marathon.
A special ceremony will be held to mark the 10th anniversary of the terrorist bombing at the finish line of the 2013 Marathon. Three people died and more than 260 were injured.
