Hal Perry has been chosen as the Leader of the Official Opposition and Interim Leader of the Liberal Party. Perry was first elected as the MLA for District 27, Tignish-Palmer Road, in 2011. Since then, Perry has served as Minister of Education Early Learning and Culture, the Vice-Chair of the Council of Ministers of Canada, and recently served as Deputy Speaker for the last 4 years. Prior to his election, he was employed as a Property Development Officer with the Province. Perry is taking over as Leader of the Liberal Party from Sharon Cameron, who stepped down last week following the election when she lost in District 17 New Haven – Rocky Point.
