Island NDP promises to fight to keep rural hospitals open

The Island NDP held a news conference Friday outside Western Hospital in Alberton to say that the New Democrats will fight to ensure Western Hospital stays open. Leading the news conference was Dr. Herb Dickieson, the NDP candidate in District 25 O’Leary-Inverness.  Dickieson says Islanders who live in West Prince deserve MLAs who will commit and fight to ensure they can receive emergency care and other health care services in their community.  Dickieson again stressed a consistent theme for the NDP in this election campaign, and that is that only the Island New Democrats are committed to keeping PEI’s public health care system public, and keep rural hospitals open.
