The PEI Sports Hall of Fame grew by four new members on Friday night at the Rodd Royalty Inn.
Harness racing great Harry Poulton, a top driver and certainly a top trainer in North America was introduced to the Hall. Two of his greatest horses were On The Road Again and Matts Scooter in the 1980’s.
Curling greats Peter Gallant and Robert Campbell were also installed. Both were teammates at numerous times on PEI Brier rinks and played in many national championships. Robert skipped two Canadian Mixed championship teams and Peter coached the Korean women’s team that won a silver in the 2018 Winter Olympics.
Ocean 100’s Dave Holland was inducted after being a sports reporter on PEI for over 50 years and covering most of the major sports events and highlights over a the past five decades.
The emcee for the night was Nick Murray, Executive Director of the PEI Sports Hall located in Summerside.
