Sharon Cameron of Cornwall is the new leader of the PEI Liberal Party after yesterday’s AGM and Leadership Convention at East Wiltshire School in Cornwall.
Cameron is a former provincial deputy minister and past CEO of the Workers Compensation Board.
She was the only person to come forward as a candidate earlier this fall.
Cameron says her top priority will be rebuilding the party. She also says Islanders are facing serious issues including the rising cost of living, basic healthcare services becoming inaccessible, and small businesses struggling to recruit and retain workers during a labour shortage. Cameron will seek a seat in the PEI legislature in next year’s provincial election.
