PEI has its first gold medal ever in Atlantic Under-18 boys Rugby.
The Islanders defeated the Nova Scotia Keltics, 15-7 at Three Rivers in Montague to claim the title.
Jordan Arsenault had the winning try as PEI went 4-0.
The Island boys will head to Kingston, Ontario for the Eastern Nationals in August (12-18).
The Stratford A’s shutout the Cardigan Clippers, 3-0 in Kings County Baseball. Brett Hicken fired the complete game shutout.

It would have been the first combined perfect game in history but Hanser Alberto went the other way against the shift in the 9th off Ryan Yarbrough and singled to break up the no-hit bid. Steve Wilkerson then singled and that was the end of the no-hitter.
The Los Angeles Dodgers took 2 of 3 from the Red Sox at Fenway winning 7-4 in 12 innings.
The Dodgers took 2 of 3 at Fenway in the rematch of last year’s World Series teams. Ex-Red Sox pitcher Joe Kelly got the save against his old team.

The Toronto Blue Jays made roster move yesterday sending slugger Rowdy Tellez to Triple A Buffalo leading to speculation they are about to call up shortstop Bo Bichette.
The trade deadline is only two weeks away and there is talk the Jays could trade pitchers Marcus Stroman and Ken Giles and maybe first baseman Justin Smoak.
Tellez was hitting .228 with 14 home runs and 40 RBIs in 77 games.
The Jays begin a series in Boston tonight. Trent Thornton and Rick Porcello in the pitching match-up.
Tampa Bay, 6 behind the Yankees will be in the Bronx. Blake Snell and James Paxton will pitch.
Other games include Detroit at Cleveland, Washington at Baltimore and Atlanta in Milwaukee.
