Corporal Sean Coombs has been named Deputy Police Chief for the Charlottetown police force.
The 47-year old Coombs replaces Gary MacGuigan as deputy chief. He retired in June.
Coombs has been with Charlottetown Police Services since 1995.
He has been involved with the street crime drug section and as a supervisor.
The department’s other deputy chief is Brad MacConnell.
Coombs will be responsible for uniform patrol and will work closely with MaConnell and report to the chief of police.
He also gets to work more closely with the community.
